Anti Poaching
At Life Form Taxidermy, the production of world-renowned taxidermy excellence is not our sole purpose. We are also fully committed to conservation initiatives that ensure the ongoing protection and preservation of wild animals and wild places by providing aid, support and assistance to the men and women campaigning constantly on the anti-poaching battlefields. These are our ‘brothers-in-arms’, our tribe… and we are proud and honored to be immersed in their cause.
This page is dedicated to Life-Form’s Conservation Purpose. While taxidermy is our core business, taxidermy can only exist in a world where healthy ecosystems prevail, supporting an abundance of wildlife. These include:
Sabie Game Park Counter-poaching Unit
Life-Form Taxidermy proudly supports this counter-poaching unit with its hands-on, boots-on-the-ground approach to conserving wildlife, including the last remaining white and black Rhino in Mozambique. Pivotal in this objective, is simultaneous engagement and conservation-education of local communities. Without ‘feet-on-the-ground, the conservation battle is lost.
Mashambanzou Safaris Anti-poaching Unit
Four different concessions with a total of 70 full time rangers between the areas. In their Niassa concession they are one of only 3 safari operators in Mozambique that is running SMART satellite tracking and monitoring of rangers as well as EARTHRANGER for real time locations on scouts as well as collared animals. With the support of Life-Form Taxidermy, providing quality clothing and footwear to the rangers, they have been able to maintain their boots on the ground throughout the whole of the 2020 pandemic lock down.
Kambako Law Enforcement Unit
Faced with torrential rainfall for four months of the year, the never ending Miombo forest, thick and abundant riverine, granite mountains and rolling grassland is what the Kambako Law Enforcement Unit face on a daily basis. The unit covers a range more than 1.5 million acres, a conservation effort of mammoth proportion. Their efforts here are targeting not only the anti-poaching of wildlife, but also upon combatting illegal timber harvesting, stopping the non-sustainable fishing activities. Life-Form Taxidermy is happy to help in clothing this unit to battle the harsh environment and ever changing elements.
Zambeze Delta Anti-poaching Unit
Spearheaded by renowned conservationist Mark Haldane, who has dedicated 27 years of his life to the restoration of a unique ecosystem formerly decimated by the Mozambican Civil War. His successes portray an unprecedented example of how the shattered ecology of several hundred thousand acres has been miraculously resurrected to its former glory - wildlife populations have increased by almost 3000 percent!! This due directly to concerted anti-poaching efforts and community engagement. Life-Form Taxidermy is proud to have sponsored a portion of the fuel for the running of their helicopters as well as clothing for the unit.
